The views of seventy four Saint Lucians who met on June 6th, 2015 under the WWViews on Climate and Energy umbrella were quite similar to those expressed by participants from other Caribbean countries as well as developing countries’ participants from other regions, suggesting a level of congruence of the views of civil societyon the key issues to be negotiated at COP 21.

Notwithstanding civil society’s disappointment with the effectiveness of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiating process, there is a call for action at COP 21 at several fronts. This expression of hope is driven by the belief that the severity of the consequences of climate change is too grave for our leaders to not show leadership to address them. More information on the results of this process can be obtained from the National Results Report.
