On Wednesday, 24th May 2017, the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hosted its 4th Annual Report for 2016 at the Financial Centre in Pointe Seraphine, Castries.

The annual report was presented by Mr. Giles Romulus, National Coordinator of the GEF-SGP UNDP.

GEF-SGP Contracts were presented to the following new grantees:

  1. Premium Cocoa Producers
  2. Malgretoute Community Action Trust
  3. Millet Development Committee
  4. Caribbean Holistic Enterprise for Food Security and Sovereignty Inc.
  5. SLAFY
  6. Canaries, Anse La Raye, Roseau and Millet Foundation

High-level Panel Discussion

The ceremony also included a High-level Panel Discussion on Research and Innovation in Saint Lucia. The session was introduced by H.E. Dame Pearlette Louisy and insightful presentations were delivered on various topic by the following panelists:

  • Dr. James Fletcher
  • Mrs. Norma Maynard
  • Mr. Javed Samuel
  • Mr. Johanan Dujon
